JCI Naga and Naga Cariñosa Join the 2007 SOLAC

September is the JCI month for SOLAC (Southern Luzon Area Conference). This area conference has been participated by JCI members from Southern Tagalog East and West, Palawan Region, Cavite Region and Bicol Region. This year’s event was held on Sept. 7 - 9, 2007 hosted by JCI-Legazpi in city of Legazpi.

The 27th JCI Philippines SOLAC was attended by approximately three hundred (300) of JCI members from Area III. Energetic and hyperactive members of JCI Naga and JCI Naga Cariñosa were among participants to this prestigious event. After the Traslacion 2007, they traveled to Legazpi in order not to miss important sessions and activities.

The event proper has commenced with the Opening Ceremony and Congressman’s Dinner sponsored by Albay Representative, Hon. Al Francis Bichara together with Senate President, Sen. Manny B. Villar as the guest speaker at the Pepperland Hotel. One of the highlights in the evening was the Miss Solac 2007 Pageant where Ms. Aibee Cristy Tan, Baby Jaycee of  JCI Naga Cariñosa bagged the First Runner Up.

The second day was a busy day for all of the members where series of trainings and seminars were held simultaneously at the Pacific Mall Convention Hall, with interesting topics such as Mastering the Mic, Basic Cellphone Troubleshooting and Repair, JCI e-Awards seminar, Point and Shoot like a Pro (Digital Photography for Amateur) and Business Networking. The Participants has selected their topic of interest.

We called it “A Day” for it was time for the “Mayor’s Night” and “Wet and Wilder”at the Ligñon Hill.  JCI Sen. Hon. Noel E. Rosal, Legazpi City Mayor and Hon. Brando M. Sael, Vice Governor of Albay gave his keynote address and inspirational message, respectively. Everyone was wearing Sexy Hawaiian outfit. Different chapters prepared a group presentation for Wet and Wilder.

The awarding ceremony was held simultaneously with the election of National Board at the People’s Hall, Provincial Government of Albay. Hon. Joey Sarte Salceda, Albay Governor gave his inspirational message concluding his views and ideals about the country’s economy.

The Naga City Jaycees won the Major award in Best Youth Activity Program for the project entitled “Positive Parenting, Children’s Rights and Legal Counseling” during the Bantay Bata 163 Caravan organized by ABS-CBS on Nov. 19, 2006 at the Pili Sports Complex. Also, the Merit award for Best Local Organization Website has been given to Naga Jaycees for establishing the Naga City Jaycees website at http://www.nagajaycees.org.

The celebration was concluded with the Send Off Party for all the delegates at the D’CHEF’s restaurant.
