In the year 1955, twenty five (25) young men fired with missionary zeal and filled with hopes organized the first Jaycee chapter in the Bicol Region. In June 1955, the Junior Chamber of Naga City has received its charter grant from the Junior Chamber of the Philippines under the term of the JCI Sen. Ramiro J. Garcia, the 8th National President of JCI Philippines. On the same year, the officers and members incorporated the chapter and eventually became the Naga City Jaycees, Inc.
Naga City Jaycees is the first and the mother of many Jaycee chapters in the Bicol Region. During its years of existence, the Chapter has proved itself to be an effective tool for individual development. Because of its methods and techniques in project planning and development, individual and group leadership was born. For the community betterment, the Chapter has sponsored countless projects and rendered free professional services to the community’s indigents.
In the national affairs, the LOM has successfully hosted three National Conventions and several Regional Area Conferences. It has also received several awards, local, national, and international.
Currently, the Local Organizing Members (LOM) is headed by JCI Mem. Alexis “Choi” L. Fante. Its members are composed of young professionals from the different sectors of the community. The chapter actively implements traditional national projects such as Youth Leadership Excellence Award (YLEA), The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM), Beyond Prison Walls, Jaycee Week, and Alay Lakad to name a few. The chapter was also involved in contemporary projects that cater to community services like Political Fora, Operation Quick Count, Positive Parenting & Children’s Rights, Sports Development, etc. Its members are diligent participants to regional Area Conferences and National Conventions.
