JCI Naga Member attended the First JCI Presenter Course in the Philippines
JCI Mem. Vincent "Vhem" Lobrigo, Secretary General of Naga Jaycees graduated the First JCI Presenter Course in JCI Philippines under an All-Filipino tandem of JCI University trainers held on May 17, 2008 in Tarlac City. Vhem is the first to attend the JCI Presenter Course in JCIP Area III and Bicol REgion. The training course was headed by JCI Mem. Maximo Alexis "Beep-Beep" M. Tan, JCI Head Trainer and assisted by JCI Mem. Richard Dennis D. Tan, Assistant Trainer. Despite of the bad weather / Typhoon Signal No. 3 in Tarlac City, Vhem and eight (8) other members from JCIP Area II pursue to graduate the course.

2008 Area Council Meeting and Area Sportfest hosted in Camarines Sur
It has been the tradition of the JCI Philippines especially the JCIP Area III and Bicol that the Sportsfest is held during or after the second Regional and Area Council Meeting. This year's Area sportsfest has been concluded on April 26, 2008 at the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex, Provincial Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur. The event was was participated by more or less 200 JCIP members of Southern Luzon and it was conducted with the Area Trainer's Forum and the Area Council Meeting. The whole day activity was jointly hosted by the JCI Naga and JCI Naga Carinosa chaired by JCI Mem. Librado Mendoza Jr and JCI Mem. Miel Bongon, respectively. JCI Naga observes DOH’s Leprosy
control & prevention week, outreach
program in Bicol Sanitarium
 CABUSAO, Camarines Sur --– Unfazed by the heavy rains on its way to Bicol Sanitarium, in observance of the 4-day annual event program Leprosy Control and Prevention Week of Department of Health, the Junior Chamber International Naga, an affiliate organization of Junior Chamber International Philippines and Junior Chamber International – commonly known as Naga City Jaycees – joined the community led by Dr. Edgardo Sarmiento, chief administrator, Bicol Sanitarium, San Pedro, Cabusao, Camarines Sur in celebrating their culminating activity recently with the theme of “Working Towards a Leprosy-Free Philippines.” [ FULL STORY]

JCI Naga attends the 2008 First Area Council Meeting
 The JCI Naga, as member of the JCIP Area III attended this year's first Area Council Meeting held at Alpha Hotel, Batangas City last February 2, 2008. JCI Mem. Alexis Fante, LOM President, JCI Mem, Vincent Lobrigo, LOM Secretary and JCI Mem. Francis Seva, Baby Jaycee represented the LOM in the said event. Trainings like "Induction Protocol" by JCI Sen. Jay Amatong and "JCI e-Awards System" by JCI Mem. Eds Guinto were also held before the meeting proper. The fellowships started at the Gypsis Bar hosted by JCI Batangas Caballero and followed at the Matabungkay Beach Resort hosted by JCI Legaspi. The event was well represented by LOM in Area III. The second ACM as announced by NEVP Melvin will be held in Naga City this coming April 26, 2008.

JCI Naga and JCI Naga Cariñosa's Opportunity To Succeed Seminar 2008
 The JCI Naga and JCI Naga Cariñosa held the first Opportunity to Succeed Seminar for year 2008 last Friday, Jan. 25 at the Starmark Café. Twenty-eight (28) gentlemen and ladies from Naga and Cariñosa attended the seminar. It was indeed an equally shared number of baby jaycees for both chapter. The seminar was conducted by JCI Naga Cariñosa’s PRIME graduate of 2007 and LOM Secretary, Mary Sharon M. Lobrigo. [Full Story]

JCI Naga hosted the e-Awards Training during the First RCM
 As part of the program of JCI Mem. Robert Roy Castro, JCI Regional Training Director for Bicol, to conduct a training in every JCI event in Bicol, the "e-Award Training" is the first in the series of trainings for the term 2008. The activity was conducted on January 5, 2008 during the First Regional Council Meeting for Bicol. JCI Mem. John Rico Luga and JCI Mem. Kharla of JCI Cavite Magiting as guest speakers, discussed about the details of bidding a project using the eAwards web-based system. Representatives from different LOMs in Bicol and members from JCI Cavite attended the training.

The Haven Project at Six
 The JCI "Haven", a twinning project with JCI Legazpi Dawani and JCI Naga held on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the DSWD Haven at Ligao City, Albay. The first "Haven" project was conducted six years ago chaired by JCI Sen. Rikko Evangelista (Naga Jaycees) and JCI Sen. Melanie Loria (Legazpi Dawani) and annually conducted by both chapters. This year's activity was chaired by JCI Mem. Vincent Lobrigo (Naga Jaycees) and JCI Mem. Jolly (JCI Legazpi Dawani). Renovation of children's facilities, gift giving and feeding were the highlights of the project. [Full Story].

 September is the JCI month for SOLAC (Southern Luzon Area Conference). This area conference has been participated by JCI members from Southern Tagalog East and West, Palawan Region, Cavite Region and Bicol Region.  The main attraction of the conference was the yearly search for "Miss SOLAC.Six (6) candidates of Area III represented their chapter / LOM as they compete to get the prestige crown. Candidates from JCI San Pablo 7 Lakes, JCI Cavite – Magiting, JCI Palawan – Peacock, JCI Batangas – Caballero and our very own JCI Naga – Cariñosa, Ms. Aibee Cristy T. Tan who uncovered her confidence, poise and showed how consistent she is when asked about her ideals during the question and answer portion of the beauty contest. [Full Story]

JCIP-Naga conducted the Alay Lakad National Project 2007
 The JCIP-Naga conducted the Alay Lakad 2007 on Saturday, September 2, 2007. The activity is a JCI Philippines national project conducted annually by different LOMs nationwide to raise funds for the socio-economic projects for the out-of-school-youth. The walk started at 7 A.M. from the Naga City Metropolitan Cathedral to Plaza Quezon.

2008 Officers elected during the 8th General Membership Meeting. As mandated in the Constitution and By-Laws of the Naga City Jaycees, officers for next year term shall be elected on the third saturday of August. The 8th  General Membership Meeting which was held on August 18, 2007, has commenced for the selection of the qualified members to join the 2008 Officers. Fourteen (14) new officers were elected headed by newly elect JCI Mem. Alexis "Choi" Fante, incoming 2008 LOM President. The election was facilitated and headed by JCI Sen. Enrico Avelino Evanglista assisted by President JCI Mem. Loreto Aquino Jr.

The Operation Quick Count 2007
 Chaired by JCI Mem. Alexis Choi Fante, the Naga City Jaycees in cooperation with the Parish Pastoral Council Region V (PPCRV) and National Movement for Free Election (NAMFREL) held the Operation Quick Count 2007 on May 11, 2007. JCI Naga has covered the counting of votes for senatorial and local city candidates using the 6th copy of the election returns. Results from the 95% collected election returns were posted at the Plaza Quezon stage and the Naga Jaycees website.

JCIP-Naga & Naga Cariñosa conduct
a joint "Opportunity To Succeed" Seminar.  JCI way in recruiting, orienting and welcoming new members is through OTS (Opportunity to Succeed Seminar). Headed by JCI Mem. Alexis Fante (Naga Jaycees) and JCI Mem. Juliet Zara (Naga Cariñosa), JCI Naga and Cariñosa jointly conducted the event on November 25, 2006 at Starmark Cafe. The lectures and presentations were presented by JCI Mem. Roy Robert Castro and JCI Mem. Librado Mendoza, who recently completed the PRIME training during the 58th National Convention held at Subic, Olongapo City on October 12 - 14, 2006 to the fourteen (14) new recuits.

The JCIP-Naga conducts the 2007 Project Planning Session and Strategic Project Planning Seminar.
The JCI Naga Board of Directors headed by LOM President JCI Mem. Nono Aquino conducted the 2007 Project Planning Session and Strategic Planning Seminar on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the residence of JCI Mem. Roy Castro in Mayon Avenue, Naga City. This event was intended to come up with the 2007 calendar of activities and list of projects and its respective chairman. JCI Sen Enrico Avelino Evangelist discussed important topics like project management and documentation.

International Philippines National Convention last October 12 - 14, 2006 at the Subic

senators and guests from all over the country convened to participate in this annual

Naga Jaycees supports the "Anduyog Mayon: Relief Operation" organized by Ateneo de Naga University.
Naga Jaycees donated goods as their contribution in the campaign of the Ateneo de Naga University for the victims of Mt. Mayon volcanic activity. Donations are listed in the University's website (http://www.adnu.edu.ph/mayon/response.asp).

Naga Jaycees contributes to the Music Scene of Naga City.
Headed by past president/JCI. Sen. Alex Cruz (Guitar) and City Councilor / JCI Mem. Atty John Bongat (Drums), Four (4) members of JCIP-Naga formed the band "Sideline". Live performances are usually held to entertain foreign visitors in the City on special occasions. Other members of the group are JCI. Mem. Vincent Lobrigo (Bass), JCI Mem. Roger Palacio (Guitar) and Mr. Abet Bercasio (Manager of Axa Life Insurance, Naga City). One of the biggest performances was during the concert of True held last November 2006 at the avenue square. They usually perfom at the Lolos Bar in Avenue Square. |

MEET THE PRESIDENT
JCI Mem. Alexis "Choi" Fante , being a very dedicated and dynamic member of the board, holds the seat as Vice President External in the term year 2007 of JCI Naga when he was elected as 53nd President for LOM year 2008 during the annual election and General Membership Meeting of the organization held on August 2007. Pres. Choi has luxury of time to promote JCI Philippines and his LOM by organizing activities that would expose the organization to the public. Also, his initiative to visit LOMs would help in strengthening the unity and camaraderie among the Bicol, the Area 3 and the rest of the Philippine Jaycees' LOMs.
